The Idea Behind it
I have alway been very passionate about trying to become more and more environmentally friendly so when I started working more heavily with textiles I wanted to incorporated a way to both create my work but also not contribute the 25 billon pounds of textile wast produced each year only in the United States. I knew there was many was I could go about doing this such as investing into products like dye and fabric preside by a B corporation, getting scrap fabric, making the matrices myself. I destined that I wanted to make my own fabric dye and would do it by using food scraps. Onile skins, avocet pits, Coffeys grounds, etc.
